Welcome to Skagit County
June 3, 2021 Concrete Sauk Valley Road reopens; temporary bridge installedThe Operations Division of Skagit County Public Works has finished installing a temporary bridge over South Osterman Creek, a tributary to the Sauk River, on Concrete Sauk Valley Road (52808 Concrete Sauk Valley Road). Concrete Sauk Valley Road has been closed since it washed out in January 2021. The installation of the temporary bridge will allow the road to reopen to one-way, single lane traffic until a permanent fix has been put in place. The temporary bridge was purchased by Skagit County this year and will be able to be used in the future for similar situations. “We really appreciate the Community’s patience while we worked to get this into place,” said Commissioner Lisa Janicki, who currently serves as Chair of the Board. “This was a long process, but purchasing this bridge will allow us to respond to similar road closures more quickly and efficiently in the future- particularly during emergency situations.” Public Works finished installing the bridge on June 2, 2021. The bridge is designed to handle all legal loads including logging trucks (U80). For updates on road closures and hazards, visit the Road Closures website.
