SKAGIT COUNTY SEEKS VOLUNTEERS TO SERVE ON STEERING COMMITTEE TO REVIEW COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
SKAGIT COUNTY Every seven years Skagit County is required to review its comprehensive plan and development regulations to ensure compliance with the Growth Management Act. The Skagit County Board of Commissioners is currently seeking volunteers for a steering committee to assist the County in its effort to reach out to the public and serve in an advisory role during the review process.
We invite you to participate in this process. We want to make sure the Comprehensive Plan truly reflects the vision our citizens, said Commissioner Ted Anderson.
The steering committee will be comprised of involved citizens who are willing to reach out to a network of citizens, organizations, special-interest groups, local civic clubs, and interested members of the general public. Generally, the steering committee will represent the interests of the public at large, and interest areas such as natural resource lands industries, real estate and construction, environmental conservation, rural issues, growth management, property rights, housing, urban and city issues, and tribal issues, said Guy McNally, Associate Planner with the Skagit County Planning & Permit Center.
Anyone with expertise, experience, or interest in any of the areas being addressed and is willing to communicate with and represent the interests of the community is invited to submit a letter of interest and statement of qualifications by Monday, June 28, 2004 to:
