MASONS, WALMART DONATE $3,500 TO SKAGIT COUNTY MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM

SKAGIT COUNTY – Kathi Patula, Community Involvement Coordinator for WAL MART and Skagit County Commissioner Don Munks representing the Fidalgo Masonic Lodge, presented checks totaling $3,500 to Skagit County Senior Service Director Jennifer Kingsley for Skagit County’s Meals on Wheels program.

The money was raised at Fidalgo Masonic Lodge annual Turkey Shoot held at the Moose Gun Club this spring. The lodge raised $2,500 and received a $1,000 matching grant from WAL MART. The funds will go to provide meals for housebound seniors. More than 300 volunteers deliver more than 115,000 meals each year to 1,500 seniors in Skagit County.

“Meals on Wheels is such an important program for our seniors,” said Munks. “It was great working with WAL MART this year to make our donation even larger.”
