SECRETARY OF HEALTH VISITING THE SKAGIT COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Washington State Secretary of Health Mary Selecky will be visiting the Skagit County Public Health Department July 1 to meet with the Health Director, the Commissioners and other local leaders.

You could also simply write a letter to the Secretary of Health and have it delivered to her attention Health Department at 700 South Second Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273, prior to July 1, 2004.

While many public health responsibilities lie on the local level, some, such as large water systems, public health standards, developing public health policy, managing the Center for Health Statistics are examples of responsibilities that are under state jurisdiction.

The local Public Health Department receives approximately $600,000 or 18% from state sources.
