Skagit County Human Services sponsors Family Treatment Courts Conference

SKAGIT COUNTY – A conference dedicated to the development and enhancement of family treatment courts is being sponsored by Skagit County Human Services, July 17-18, 2008 at the Skagit Valley Casino, Resort in Bow Washington. Family treatment courts provide intensive treatment, case management, and judicial supervision to families with serious substance abuse problems who are also involved with the Division of Children and Family Services

Treatment providers, public defenders, attorneys, child welfare caseworkers, judges, court commissioners, and guardians ad litem are encouraged to attend. Currently, teams from all over the state are registered to attend.

National level trainers will provide participants with information to develop more effective family treatment courts. The agenda provides a mix of large group teaching and team work sessions to enable participants to apply the information to their specific program.
