County Commissioners take action on Bayview Ridge Subarea Plan
SKAGIT COUNTY The Skagit County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve revisions to the Bayview Ridge Subarea Plan today during their regular session in four separate actions.
The Commissioners adopted
updates to the text and the policies of the Bayview Ridge Subarea Plan to be
consistent with the Growth Management Hearings Board Order issued on August
6, 2007.
The Commissioners approved
the expansion of the Urban Growth Area to include the approximately 315 acre
area currently designated Urban Reserve.
The Commissioners approved
a map change rezoning approximately 502 acres from Light Industrial to Heavy
Industrial.
The Commissioners amended
Skagit County Code to be consistent with the policy changes. This includes a
requirement that new development achieves a minimum density of 4 units per acre,
and up to 6 units per acre with the purchase of farmland density credits.
In the next several weeks the Board of County Commissioners is expected to sign an ordinance enacting these changes with an effective date of August 1, 2008.
