OUTDOOR BURNING RESTRICTED WEST OF SWINOMISH CHANNEL
Outdoor burning restrictions for the unincorporated areas west of
the Swinomish Channel will go into effect Monday, July 1, 2002, at
12:00 a.m. This will include the islands in Skagit County. Recreational
fires are allowed during a burn restriction if the pile is for recreational
use only and the pile is not over 3X3 (see NWAPA regulations for recreational
fire at www.nwair.org or call 428-1617). Yard waste and debris burning
of any size, is not allowed during a burn restriction.
This decision was made in cooperation with the Washington State Department
of Natural Resources, local fire districts and the city of Anacortes.
If you are within an incorporated city or town in Skagit County, contact
your city or town fire department for burn restriction information.
You may obtain updated County burn restriction information by calling
the Skagit County Fire Warden at (360) 428-3293.
