OUTDOOR BURNING RESTRICTION
Due to high fire danger and expected hot and dry weather conditions for the
next few months, outdoor burning restrictions for the unincorporated areas of
Skagit County will go into effect Monday, July 5, 2004, at 11:00 p.m. This burn
restriction will be in effect until at least September 15, 2004. If you are
within the city limits of any of the incorporated cities or towns, check with
your City Fire Department for current burning restrictions.
The only exception to this burn restriction will be campfires in established campgrounds that have a Campground Fire Permit from the Skagit County Fire Marshal's Office. Please check with State and Federal Parks to determine their outdoor burning requirements for campfires. It is never legal to burn trash or garbage. All outdoor burning permits for the unincorporated areas of Skagit County are suspended at this time.
This decision has been made in cooperation with the Skagit County Board of Commissioners, Washington State Department of Natural Resources, local fire districts and Northwest Air Pollution Authority.
You may obtain updated County
burn restriction information by calling the Skagit County Fire Warden at (360)
428-3293.
