PROSECUTING ATTORNEY ANNOUNCES FILING OF MURDER, CONSPIRACY AND ASSAULT CHARGES AGAINST FOUR DEFENDANTS
SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney Tom Seguine announced today that charges have been filed in Skagit County Superior Court against four defendants related to the stabbing and subsequent death of Corey Mills and the stabbing of another subject. The stabbings occurred during the early morning hours of June 4, 2006 at a residence on the west side of Mount Vernon, just outside the city of Mount Vernon. Mills succumbed to injuries caused by the stabbings on June 8, 2006. The case has been investigated by the Skagit County Sheriff.
The four defendants charged are Reynaldo Mejia, Jr., DOB 10/17/80; Reynaldo Mejia-Samiento, DOB 2/18/61; Roberto Mejia, DOB 10/5/85; and Miguel Zamora, Jr. DOB 7/7/84.
Seguine said that each defendant was charged with three criminal charges, Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Assault. The murder and conspiracy charges relate to the death of Mr. Mills; the assault charges relate to the second individual. The defendants are scheduled to be arraigned on July 13, 2006. Bail has been set at $500,000 for each defendant.
