COUNTY RELEASES REPORT
AND ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS ON 2003 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT PROPOSALS
Skagit County is considering six proposed amendments to the Skagit County Comprehensive
Plan/Zoning Map, known as the 2003 Comprehensive Plan Amendment proposals. These
amendments were submitted to the County by the owners of the affected properties,
including three individuals, a school district, a city and a town.
On July 8, 2004, The Planning and Permit Center released information on these
proposed amendments for review and comment by the public and local and state
agencies. This includes a combined report analyzing the likely environmental
impacts of the proposals and their consistency with the County Comprehensive
Plan. The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the proposals
on August 10, 2004, to be followed by Planning Commission deliberations and
ultimately review and final consideration by the Board of County Commissioners.
The documents are available at www.skagitcounty.net or at the Skagit County
Planning and Permit Center containing additional details on the proposals, and
deadlines and procedures for public comments under the State Environmental Policy
Act (SEPA) and for the Planning Commission public hearing.
