SKAGIT COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES AND LA CONNER SEPAC PRESENT FREE CANOE AND CYCLING EVENT, SUNDAY, JULY 25TH BY SKIFORALL

The public is invited to a free canoeing and cycling event sponsored by the La Conner Special Education Parent Advisory Council and Skagit County Human Services, on Sunday, July 25, 2004, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon at Heart Lake, in Anacortes. “Everyone is welcome no experience is necessary and canoes and adaptive cycles are provided,” said Kelly Matlock, Skagit County Human Services.

The event is conducted by SKIFORALL, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing recreational opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Schedule:
CANOEING AT HEART LAKE: 9:30 AM-12 NOON
LUNCH ON YOUR OWN: 12 NOON-1 PM
ADAPTIVE CYCLING AT MOUNT ERIE ELEMENTARY: 1-3:30 PM

Directions:
From South
• Take I-5 North
• Take exit 230
• At first light take a left onto Highway 20
• Follow Highway 20 west to Anacortes. Hwy 20 W becomes Hwy 20 SPUR W. From that point, you’ll travel 2.7 miles to Anacortes.
• Once you reach Anacortes, turn left onto Commercial Avenue, then right on Fidalgo Avenue, then left on O Avenue, then right on 41st Street (all of this less than a mile from Hwy 20). You’ll see Mount Erie Elementary, 1313 41st Street, (afternoon cycling) on your left.
Continue on 41st Street west toward I Avenue. Turn left on H Avenue, which becomes Heart Lake Road. Continue on Heart Lake Road, following the signs to Heart Lake, which will be on your right, less than a mile from where you turned left onto H Avenue. We’ll be at the big parking lot at Heart Lake.

From North
• Take I-5 South
• Take exit 230
• Merge right onto Peterson Rd.
Then follow the above directions, beginning with “At first light…”
