TOBIN RECEIVES LETTER OF COMMENDATION FOR "CRIME EMPHASIS" PROACTIVE ARREST SWEEP IN MARBLEMOUNT
SKAGIT COUNTY Skagit County Sheriffs Deputies made 13 criminal arrests and issued numerous traffic citations during a high profile police emphasis in Marblemount during the month of June. Deputy Tobin Meyer coordinated the emphasis which involved a high profile presence of deputies in the Marblemount area for several consecutive days. For his efforts, he received a Letter of Commendation from Sheriff Rick Grimstead. In all my years of law enforcement, I have never received so many positive letters from citizens, said Grimstead.
Deputies conducted high profile traffic stops on all violators observed during the emphasis. Deputies are required to have reasonable suspicion and are only able to stop vehicles with observable violations.
Meyer is assigned to the Sheriffs Office East Detachment, which consists of eight deputies assigned full-time in the Eastern region of Skagit County. In 2004, the Sheriffs office contracted for police services with the Town of Concrete and added a detective to assist with felony investigations.
