SKAGIT COUNTY TO PARTICIPATE
IN SIMULATED TERRORIST ATTACK EXERCISE
MOUNT VERNON - On Wednesday, July 25, 2007, Skagit County will conduct a simulated terrorist attack exercise in the vicinity of River Bend Road near Mount Vernon. This exercise is part of a State-wide National Guard exercise called Evergreen Sentry 07.
The Skagit County portion of the exercise will involve multiple jurisdictions and agencies, with the goal of exercising and improving communications and coordination among the various responding disciplines.
River Bend Road #70010 will be closed to through traffic at milepost 1.580 (Anacortes Water Treatment Plant) from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm for a Homeland Security Exercise. Access to and from this location will remain from both the north and the south. The roadway will be closed to all through traffic with the exception of emergency vehicles.
