New software allows eagle eye view of property, plus essential information SKAGIT COUNTY Whether you need important real estate information or just want to see an aerial view of your neighborhood, check out Imap, a new Internet Map Service (IMS) that allows interactive viewing of Skagit County geographic information. It is accessible on Skagit Countys website at www.skagitcounty.net. This new service is designed to run from Microsofts Internet Explorer web browser allowing the user to search on an address or property ID number. The system will quickly display a map showing the parcel and other map information, according to Geoff Almvig, Skagit County GIS Manager. This information includes fire districts, commissioner districts, and aerial photography. We plan to expand the list of layers and ad links to other important county information. To use Imap, select the icon on the Skagit County home page. We encourage you learn to use Imap by experimenting with it. If you need help you can select the ? on the symbol on the Imap toolbar, said Brian Young, Skagit County webmaster. This is an incredible tool for our office, said Skagit County Assessor Mark Leander. This is a first-rate customer service feature that will save users hours of time and trips to our office. Skagit County recently received a 5th place national ranking in the nations first Digital Counties Survey conducted by the Center for Digital Government in partnership with the national Association of Counties and Government Technology magazine.
