COMMISSIONERS EXTEND DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT APPLICATIONS

SKAGIT COUNTY - The Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 extending the deadline for the submission of Comprehensive Plan Amendment applications this year from July 31, 2007 to the 30th day following the Board’s adoption of the 2005 GMA Update.  The Board is expected to adopt the 2005 GMA Update in late August of this year.

Skagit County Planning and Development Services will accept applications for comprehensive plan amendments for 30 days following that adoption date – or until the next business day if the 30th day happens to fall on a weekend or holiday. 
 
This is to allow citizens to know the outcome of the 2005 GMA Update before deciding whether to submit a comprehensive plan amendment application.  It will also allow some matters not resolved through the 2005 Update to be rolled over into the 2007-2008 amendment cycle. 
 
Once the Board adopts the 2005 Update the public will be notified of the new deadline.  Anyone with questions can contact the following people at Skagit County Planning and Development Services:
