County seeks Conservation Futures advisors
The Skagit County Board of Commissioners (BoCC) is seeking interested persons
from District 1 to serve on the Conservation Futures Advisory Committee (CFAC)
in an advisory role for the Farmland Legacy Program's. The CFAC reviews and
makes recommendations to the BoCC on the purchase of development rights on
agricultural properties throughout the Skagit County agricultural lands. The
CFAC meets monthly for two hours on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00
am. The terms are on a staggered 4-year cycles. This position ends on December
31, 2014, with the option for additional terms.
Individuals with knowledge
and/or experience in agriculture, land conservation, and/or natural resource
management, or other related interests are encouraged to submit a letter of
