Skagit Regional Clinics Riverbend to offer back-to-school shots
SKAGIT COUNTY – Starting August 17, Skagit Regional Clinics Riverbend Pharmacy joins the list of providers offering vaccines for children age four and older.
Skagit Regional Clinics is a department of Skagit Valley Hospital. Skagit County health officials, who urge parents to make required vaccination shots a priority before school starts, are pleased with the decision to offer a variety of vaccines at the Riverbend Pharmacy. Shots will be available on a walk-in basis, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Skagit County Epidemiologist Yeshimebet Tulu emphasizes there are several sources available for back to school vaccinations. She recommends that parents first contact their primary care physician regarding options.
She also said: “Although our department discontinued clinical services in June, it is important to note that our clinic only provided 2 percent of children's vaccines administered locally. We remain a resource for any questions or concerns you might have regarding your children’s vaccinations.”
Those who have not established a medical home with a primary care provider are urged to contact a Sea Mar medical clinic or Skagit Regional Clinics Riverbend Pharmacy for back to school vaccinations.
The Sea Mar Mount Vernon clinic is located at 1400 LaVenture, Mount Vernon; (360) 428-4075. The Concrete clinic is located at 7438 South “D” Avenue, Concrete; (360) 853-8183.
The Skagit Regional Clinics Riverbend Pharmacy is located at 2320 Freeway Drive; (360) 814-6800.
“While we no longer provide vaccinations, we are eager to help with information and referrals,” said Tulu. “We want to partner with parents to safeguard children against preventable diseases including whooping cough and influenza.”
