REVIEW OF THE 2007 SKAGIT
COUNTY FAIR
The fair is over and a few closing remarks.
- The weather was perfect not too hot but clear enough to make it enjoyable
- The Free til Three was a huge success vendors doubled their figures from 2006 with the extra people on the ground. Plus it gave people the opportunity to see their fair. Even with that our figures are coming out very close to our 2006 gate revenues.
- The prestigious black and white award was presented to Becky McClellan, 4-H superintendent. She works long hours to display the works on the entrants in a pleasing way. The award was presented by State Fair Commissioner Barry Halvorson.
- The Bob Cockburn Recognition Award, an award presented to an individual who worked hard to make the fair better went to Rick Nemo. Rick is the first person we all see in the morning, he picks up litter, is our year round camp host and most important of all he has adopted every plant on the grounds as his very own
- The pro-west rodeo drew standing room only crowds. The results of this will be coming under a different press release.
- Results of fair exhibits
will be coming in the next three weeks.
