MANAGER RETIRES FOR THE
SECOND TIME
Skagit County Fairgrounds Manager will retire on December 23, 2007 when her contract is up with Skagit County. Smith made an attempt to retire four years ago from the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival when the county approached her and asked her to manage the fairgrounds.
Audrey was quoted right out of the chute that her goals were to make the fairgrounds a safe and clean property. She has accomplished both of these goals and feels it is time now for a new manager. The fairgrounds host events of some sort almost every day of the year. It is also home to the home show, several dog shows, many horse events, auto shows and much more.
I have enjoyed this challenge from beginning to end and I will miss all of the wonderful people I have met says Smith. Those interested in applying for the position can watch the Skagit Valley Herald or the county website for a posting.
