TO CONSIDER TULIP AS "COUNTY FLOWER" SKAGIT COUNTY - The Skagit County Tulip Festival has made an official request to the Skagit County Commissioners to proclaim the tulip as the county's official flower, according to Audrey Smith, Skagit Valley Tulip Festival Executive Director. A public meeting is scheduled in the Commissioner's Hearing Room at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2002 to review the idea. "We invite
the public to attend this meeting and give your ideas before signing
the official proclamation honoring the tulip as Skagit County's official
flower," said Commissioner Don Munks.
