COMMISSIONERS PROCLAIM "UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN MONTHS" IN SKAGIT COUNTY

SKAGIT COUNTY – The Skagit County Board of Commissioners proclaimed September, October, and November “United Way Campaign Months” for Skagit County today during their regular session. United Way of Skagit County Executive Director Paul Chaplik received the proclamation and showed a video highlighting the work United Way accomplishes with local agencies.

Chaplik commented that Skagit County employees collectively donated more than $20,000 to United Way in 2005.

United Way of Skagit County contributes funds to 30 local agencies and non-profits. “The money stays right here,” said Commissioner Don Munks. “It’s a grassroots organization that really gets things done.”

Last year, United Way of Skagit County raised more than $830,000 to help Skagit County people in need of food, clothing, shelter and essential services.
