SKAGIT COUNTY The Skagit County Commissioners signed an emergency resolution on Friday, August 30, allowing for the removal of tons of debris from the main transmission line for the City of Mount Vernon, resulting from a rock blast at a 12.5 acre rock quarry owned by Charles Tewalt located near Clear Lake.
In order to facilitate the repair, it is necessary for the quarry to remove material, which will require working around the clock. Under a Skagit County Special Use Permit the quarry hour of operations are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
The emergency resolution will be in effect until cleanup is complete and power is restored.
