POOR AIR QUALITY IN SKAGIT COUNTY
Air quality in Skagit County
may become poor due to the Burpee Hill fire and the Eastern Washington Tripod
fire. Current air patterns may cause the smoke from these fires to blow to the
West and the cold waters of Puget Sound may cause the smoke to settle at ground
level.
People who need to be careful include those with a pre-existing lung or cardiovascular
condition, the elderly, infants and young children, pregnant women, cigarette
smokers and diabetics.
Limit exposure to smoky or hazy air by staying indoors, avoiding strenuous activities
when you are outside and using the recirculation feature in your car.
