SKAGIT COUNTY JOINS NATIONAL EFFORT TO HELP COUNTIES AND PARISHES IN THE WAKE OF KATRINA
SKAGIT COUNTY Skagit County Government is joining other counties and cities to raise funds for hurricane victims on the Gulf Coast. Skagit County will send $1,750, equal to their annual National Association of Counties (NACo) dues to the Parish and County Family Fund. Skagit County Commissioners Ted Anderson, Ken Dahlstedt and Don Munks have each made personal donations of $100 each.
NACo President Bill Hansell put out a plea to counties throughout the nation to provide assistance to affected counties and parishes and their employees. During their hour of need I know that the counties of Washington will respond with their hearts and their wallets to give assistance to our fellow county officials and employees of the Gulf Coast who have been impacted by this horrific event.
Were encouraging people in Skagit County to help anyway they can. This is just one more way to help those in need, said Skagit County Commissioner Don Munks.
