WSDOT CLOSES CHUCKANUT DRIVE FOR ONE WEEK TO INSTALL NEW BOX CULVERT
BURLINGTON Washington State Department of Transportation will close scenic Chuckanut Drive (State Route 11) completely for seven days, starting next week. Crews will close the highway to remove and replace the Edison Slough culvert with a new, larger culvert.
Crews will close Chuckanut Drive Wednesday, Sept. 22 through Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Edison Slough, just south of Bow Hill Road, to replace the existing box culvert with a new one that is 100 square feet larger. The new culvert will help prevent flooding and improve fish passage.
To help drivers navigate around the closure WSDOT will provide signed detour routes. WSDOT suggests drivers traveling southbound on Chuckanut Drive turn left on Bow Hill Road and then turn right on Ershig Road to get back to Chuckanut Drive. Vice versa for drivers heading northbound.
