Welcome to Skagit County
September 19, 2003
The outdoor burn ban will be lifted for all of the unincorporated areas of Skagit County as of 8:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2003. This decision was made by the Skagit County Fire Marshal's Office in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. If you reside within an incorporated city or town in Skagit County, contact your city fire department for burn restriction information. A four-foot pile or smaller, of natural vegetation only, can be burned without a permit. For pile sizes over four foot, you will need to apply for a Burn Permit from the Skagit County Fire Warden. You can contact the Fire Warden at (360) 428-3293 and leave a message. He will be compiling a list of those people who require burn permits and will be contacting each person in the order their request is received. Garbage and household trash cannot be burned at any time. The Skagit County Fire Marshal's Office would like to thank the public for their cooperation in supporting our fire prevention efforts during the burn ban.
