WSU/SKAGIT
COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS
The WSU/Skagit County Master Gardeners are currently recruiting volunteers
for their winter 2004 training sessions! The 60 hours of home horticulture-based
training covers a variety of subjects like plant identification, weed
mgmt., vegetables, insect & disease mgmt., ornamentals, soil,
composting, tree & small fruit, turf mgmt., landscape problems,
pesticide, water quality & much more. The classes are taught by
WSU Cooperative Extension staff, WSU Research & Extension staff,
& other experts in their fields. Informational material &
applications are available at the WSU/Skagit County Cooperative Extension
office in downtown Mt. Vernon at 306 S. 1st Street or call 428-4270
& request them. Applications are due by October 15th, interviews
are conducted in November & training sessions begin in mid-January.
