SKAGIT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICES, HEARINGROOM MOVES TO CONTINENTAL PLACE BUILDING
SKAGIT COUNTY The Skagit County Board of Commissioners offices and hearing room is moving to 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, effective Monday, October 4. Their offices are currently on the 2nd floor of the Skagit County Administration Building at 700 South Second Street.
Skagit County purchased the building in 2003. Currently the facility houses the Skagit County Public Works Department. In addition to the Commissioners offices, the Skagit County Planning and Permit Center will also relocate to 1800 Continental later this year.
Skagit County GIS will relocate from the Sheriffs Office to the 2nd floor of the Skagit County Administration Building.
The new Commissioners Hearing Room provides expanded seating, improved acoustics and multi-media tools for presentation. Upgraded television equipment for government access channels also has been installed.
Having the Commissioners, Public Works, and Planning all under one roof makes a lot of sense, said Skagit County Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners Ted Anderson. Our new hearing room and improved television broadcasts will make it easier for the public to participate in County government.
