CHRISTENSEN PROMOTED TO DIRECTOR OF SKAGIT COUNTY PLANNING & PERMIT CENTER

Oscar Graham hired as Deputy Director

SKAGIT COUNTY – Gary Christensen has been promoted to the position of Director of the Skagit County Planning and Permit Center effective October 1. Oscar Graham was hired as Deputy Director, of the department, starting October 11, 2004.

Christensen was previously the Administrative Official and Assistant Director of Planning. He has been employed with Planning and Permit Center since 1988.

Graham previously served as Planning Supervisor/Interim Director for City and Bureau of Juneau, Alaska. He also served as Senior Planner/Supervisor for Skagit County from 1988-1996.

The two recommendations for the hiring decisions were made by Lou Haff, who served as interim director of the department. “After 7 ½ months of review and study, I’ve made a final recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners on the subject of Department re-organization and filling the leadership positions of this department,” said Haff.

“We feel that this new re-organization and new leadership, combined with re-location of the department to Continental Place, will make a year of positive change,” said Skagit County Commissioner Ted Anderson.
