"SKAGIT RISK" FLOOD VIDEO AVAILABLE AT AREA LIBRARIES

New website online on Skagit River Flood Prevention/Salmon Restoration Project

SKAGIT COUNTY - A nine-minute video, entitled "The Skagit Risk," is available for free check out at the Burlington, Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley public libraries. The video identifies the problems related to flood events in the Skagit Valley and provides information about the Skagit River Flood Prevention/Salmon Restoration Project, a study being conducted by Skagit County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to determine a cost effective method for safely managing large flood events in the Skagit Valley.

Also, a new website on the project is available for viewing at www.skagitcounty.net/flood project.

"We are continually seeking public input on this project, and to date have given more than 50 presentations in the community," said Skagit County Communications Director Dan Berentson.
