LEARN FIRST HAND ABOUT ELECTIONS IN SKAGIT COUNTY

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, county elections departments throughout Washington State will open their doors and host the first ever "Election Expo," an event aimed at expanding the knowledge of elections for legislators, candidates, voters and media.

"We are extremely grateful for the recent actions of the legislature and changes to Washington's elections calendar," said Thad Duvall, the current Washington State Association of County Auditors President and Douglas County Auditor. "The earlier primary date, increased audits, and the statewide voter registration database can be credited for more secure and successful elections in Washington."

Along with showcasing specific elections procedures, ballot processing, vote counting equipment, and the security and safeguards in place, Skagit County election officials will answer questions and give tours of their facilities.' "We are pleased to open our doors and show everyone how election laws become reality for our citizens," explained Jeanne Youngquist, Skagit County Auditor.

The Elections Expo will be on Tuesday, October 30 at the Skagit County Auditor's Office, 700 South 2nd Street, Mount Vernon, WA from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Let us guide and illuminate elections with continuous ongoing tours. Contact Jeanne Youngquist at 360-336-9411, or our election office at 360-336-9305.
