SEDRO-WOOLLEY LICENSING SUB-AGENT GETS CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH FROM STATE DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING

Chamber of Commerce sub-agency passes audit, removed from probation

SKAGIT COUNTY - The Washington State Department of Licensing recently completed an audit of the Sedro-Woolley Chamber of Commerce Licensing Sub-Agency, and received a clean bill of health, according to Skagit County Auditor Norma Brummett. "I had an exit interview with Shirley Smith, auditor with the Department of Licensing, and I am pleased to say the Sub-agency had an excellent audit," she said.

The Auditor's office is required to do one on-site inspection in the next six months to make sure three recommendations are being followed. "They are no longer on probation. We couldn't be more pleased," said Brummett.

Last March, the Skagit County Auditor's office terminated the sub-agency agreement with the Sedro-Woolley Chamber of Commerce for not meeting minimum accuracy requirements. The Sub-agency appealed the decision to the Washington Department of Licensing and was allowed to re-open on a probationary basis.
