SKAGIT COUNTY The Skagit County Board of Commissioners declared November National Hospice Month in Skagit County on Tuesday, October 25, in regular session. The proclamation was signed and presented to Skagit Hospice Board of Trustees Secretary Tina Heinkel.
Skagit Hospice is planning their annual fundraiser, An Appalachian Bluegrass Celebration of Life, Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon at 2:00 5:00 p.m. The event will feature music and storytelling featuring the Dunton Sisters, Queens Bluegrass and Commissioner Ted Anderson as the storyteller. Donations are suggested.
The Skagit Hospice Foundation is guided by the conviction that every person facing a life-limiting illness should have access to dignified, high-quality care. Skagit Hospice serves more than 700 patients annually.
We have all had personal experiences with family and friends who have needed support during a terminal illness, said Anderson. Skagit Hospice does a great job of providing a support system for people with life-limiting illnesses.
