"ELEANOR ROOSEVELT" ATTENDS SKAGIT COUNTY ELECTION EXPO
SKAGIT COUNTY During Skagit Countys first ever Election Expo held today, visitors not only had an opportunity to see first hand how election procedures work in the Auditors office, they also got to meet Eleanor Roosevelt played by Margie Wilson of Burlington.
Dressed in authentic 1930s splendor Wilson provided visitors with a plethora of information about the former first lady and her husband Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The Election Expo showcased election procedures, ballot processing, vote counting equipment, and security and safeguards in place. County election officials answered questions and gave tours of the facility. We were pleased to open our doors and show everyone how election laws become reality for our citizens, said Skagit County Auditor Jeanne Youngquist. And of course we were thrilled to have Mrs. Roosevelt pay us a visit!
