LIMITED SUPPLY FLU VACCINE RECEIVED BY SKAGIT COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH

The Skagit County Public Health Department has received a limited supply of it's flu vaccine and will be holding Flu Clinics at the following Senior Centers:

Thursday, November 4 - Mt. Vernon Senior Center - 9 AM - 12 Noon (160 doses)
Sedro Woolley Senior Center - 2 PM - 5 PM (150 doses)

Tuesday, November 9 - Concrete Senior Center - 9 AM - 11 AM (70 doses)
Burlington Senior Center - 1 PM - 3 PM (110 doses)

Wednesday, November 10 - Anacortes Senior Center - 8 AM - 12 Noon (450 doses)

Tuesday, November 16 - LaConner Senior Center, Maple Hall - 8:30 AM - 10 AM (60 doses)

Doses of vaccine will be given on a first come, first served basis and will be given only to high risk people. All healthy people should continue to forgo vaccination until when and if more vaccine becomes available. High risk people who will be vaccinated include:

  • Adults 65 years and older
  • People 2-64 years old with underlying chronic medical conditions
  • Women who will be pregnant during the flu season (December - April)
  • Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities
  • Health care workers involved in direct patient care contact and over 49 years old
  • Out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children aged less than 6 months
