COMMISSIONERS RECOGNIZE JOHN VAUX FOR 22 YEARS OF SERVICE ON SKAGIT COUNTY CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

SKAGIT COUNTY - The Skagit County Board of Commissioners presented John Vaux of Mount Vernon with a Certificate of Commendation for serving for 22 years as a Skagit County Civil Service Commissioner. Vaux was awarded a plaque in recognition for his service by Skagit County Commissioners Ted Anderson, Don Munks and Ken Dahlstedt.

A local pharmacist, Vaux owned and operated Vaux Pharmacy in Mount Vernon for 44 years. He retired earlier this year. Vaux paid tribute to the sheriffs he served with, including John Boynton, Gary Frazier, and Ed Goodman.

"We all wish him the very best in retirement and appreciate his many years of service to our community," said Skagit County Civil Service Examiner Dennis Wyatt.

Civil Service Commissioners assure that the civil service system in Skagit County is in accordance with state statute, specifically that all matters dealing with appointments, promotions, assignments, transfers, demotions, suspensions, discharges and/or reinstatements within the Sheriff's office be made on the basis of fairness and merit. They also assure the fitness and efficiency of the office.

"We would like to acknowledge and thank John Vaux for his commitment and outstanding service to Skagit County," said Munks.
