Skagit test site moving to Skagit Fairgrounds, will be closed Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17 to facilitate move

Today, Skagit County Unified Command announced that they will be moving the test site to Skagit County Fairgrounds beginning on Wednesday, November 18. The test site at Skagit Valley College will be closed on Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17 to facilitate the move.

“Washington winter isn’t going to get any easier, and making this move will allow us to continue providing this important service for the Skagit Community,” said Public Health Director Jennifer Johnson. “A huge thanks to all of our partners for making this possible and to the residents of Mount Vernon for accommodating us during this time.”

Skagit’s drive through test site will continue to be open to anyone who lives or works in Skagit County who feels they need to be tested for COVID-19. Residents coming to the new test site at the Fairgrounds will enter through the South Gate. The address is:

501 Taylor Street Mount Vernon, WA 98273

The test site hours will also be adjusted beginning on Wednesday, November 18. The site will be open:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday from 12: 00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.

During the closures, if you are symptomatic and need to seek testing, Public Health recommends contacting your local hospital or primary care provider for information on how to seek testing. If you are concerned you were a close contact of someone with COVID-19, please self-isolate until you are able to get tested through the test site or another venue.

“While closing the test site for any period of time is difficult, this move will ultimately allow us to provide better more consistent service to the community,” said Commissioner Lisa Janicki. “We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as we work to make this shift.”
