SKAGIT COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES JUNK VEHICLE ROUND-UP
Through the end of December
the Skagit County Health Department will be offering free removal of a limited
number of junk vehicles from private properties.
With grant funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology, the Skagit
County Health Department will be working with several licensed auto wrecking
yards to remove and dispose of junk vehicles at no cost to the property or vehicle
owners. The program is intended to provide limited assistance to Skagit County
residents who want get rid of junk vehicles and come into compliance with Skagit
County Code section 14.40 which prohibits the storage of more than four junk
vehicles without a permit.
Each vehicle must have a signed title or correct documentation before it can
be removed. Vehicles must be free of garbage and accessible to a tow truck.
Those interested in having junk vehicles removed from their property may call
the Health Departments Junk Vehicle Information Line at 336-9346. Please
be sure to have the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and address of each
vehicle when calling.
