COMMISSIONERS SIGN RESOLUTION DECLARING EMERGENCY

SKAGIT COUNTY – The Skagit County Board of Commissioners signed the following Emergency Resolution today:

WHEREAS, heavy rains fell in Skagit County on Wednesday, November 23 and 24, 2004, causing low lying areas to flood and steep banks to slide throughout Skagit County, and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to review damage and take corrective actions on South Shore Drive near Lake Cavanaugh, on the South Skagit Highway, in the Samish River Basin, on Marine Drive near Anacortes, on Blue Heron Lane on Samish Island, on Thunder Creek on Highway 9 and in other areas flooded by tributaries of the Skagit River, and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Skagit County Board of Commissioners hereby declare that an emergency exists effective Wednesday, November 23, 2004 at 4:30 P.M., to remain in effect until the condition has been stabilized, and hereby authorized the expenditure of funds as required to meet the emergency. This action is in accordance with Hydraulic Code RCW 75.20.100 (3b) and RCW 173.27.040.
