GIESBRECHT ELECTED PRESIDENT OF WASHINGTON ASSOCIATION OF COMMISSION/COUNCIL CLERKS

SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County Clerk of the Board JoAnne Giesbrecht, was elected this month to a two-year term as President of the Washington Association of Commission/Council Clerks (WACCCS) during the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) annual conference in Vancouver, Washington.

Giesbrecht began working for Skagit County in 1985, serving 14 years in the Treasurer’s Office. She has been Clerk of the Board for the Skagit County Commissioners since 2001. In 2004, following specialized training unique to Commissioner/Council Clerks throughout the United States, Giesbrecht received her Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation. She is in the final stages of completing educational requirements needed for her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation.

JoAnne is a native Skagitonian who grew up in Anacortes and resides in Mount Vernon with her husband Richard and their two cats Chloe and Dallas.
