More road closures in East Skagit County, Thunderbird evacuation underway
SKAGIT COUNTY The Skagit County Sheriff Department has begun notifying
Thunderbird residents to evacuate at 3:30 a.m. The current forecast predicts
the river to peak at Concrete at 33.6 feet at 10 am Saturday. For Mount Vernon,
the current prediction is for a peak of 31.6 feet at 10 p.m. Saturday evening.
Flood stage in Concrete and Mount Vernon is 28 ft.

North Shore Drive in Cape Horn
Martin Road between SR 530 and Rockport Cascade Road
Thunderbird Lane
Lyman Hamilton Highway from east end of Cockerham Island Road to Hamilton City Limits
Cabin Creek Road from 8092 Cabin Creek to Hamilton Cemetery Road
Cape Horn Development, South Skagit Highway
Cockerham Island Road
South Cascade Road

The public is advised to not drive through standing water on roadways and obey
closed road signs.
On the Samish River and tributaries, residents are advised to keep a close watch
on possible flood waters. For those who may need sandbags, please contact your
local fire department.
