Skagit County Fish Passage Project

Featured Project
Baker Lake Road

Watershed:
Tributary to Grandy Creek
(Stream WRIA 04.0381)

Benefits:
  • · Provides access to high quality stream habitat for several species of salmon and trout
  • Increases salmon productivity
  • Reduces flood risk

Description:

This project will replace the existing culvert at its current location with a 12-foot corrugated metal culvert with a simulated streambed inside and eliminate the drop barrier, allowing for fish passage while maintaining the minimum flood flow capacity needed. Installing boulder control drops with six-inch vertical drops every ten horizontal feet upstream of the new culvert inlet will compensate for lowering the streambed.
