Watershed:
Samish (Stream WRIA 03.0054)

Benefits
  • Provides access to approximately 1.0 mile of high quality stream habitat for several  species of salmon, steelhead and cutthroat trout
  • Increases salmon productivity
  • Reduced Flood Risk
Description

A 60-inch steel culvert was too high and steep to allow fish to travel through the roadway. A new eight foot diameter culvert with weirs fitted inside and 12 log weirs were installed to provide passage for adult and juvenile fish. Spawning Chum and Coho salmon immediately used this project.
