Coroner’s Media Report
According to the Revised Code of Washington (RCW 68.50.300) the Coroner may release information about a person’s death to the media and general public when such information is necessary to identify the deceased, or when such information is related to an incident that is of public interest. The Coroner will make every effort to first notify the family of the deceased before information is released to the public.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office is currently investigating the deaths of those found in a residential fire that occurred on WA State Route 530, Concrete, WA on Friday August 9, 2024. At this time, identification cannot be confirmed and will require scientific identification. An update will be provided once examinations are complete and identifications have been confirmed.
For additional details and updates on the residential fire in the Concrete area on 8/9/2024, please refer to press releases provided by the Mount Vernon Police Department. No further updates will be posted by the Skagit County Coroners Office.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has completed the examination of a 28 year old male named James White who died on 4/14/2024 in Mount Vernon, WA. The cause of death has been determined as gunshot wound of left arm into chest. The manner of death is listed as homicide. No further information will be released from this office.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identification of a man found on State Route 20 on March 20, 2024 as William Summers, age 52. The cause and manner of death are currently pending further investigation. At this time, no further information will be released by this office.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identification of a woman found in the Swinomish Channel in La Conner on 1/23/2024 as Maria Belloso, age 27 of Kent, Washington. The cause and manner of death are currently pending. At this time, no further information will be released by this office.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has completed the examination of a 37 year old male named Nathan L. Williams who died on 4/1/2023 near the Twin Bridges in La Conner, WA. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation at this time and will be updated when determined.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has completed the examination of a 58 year old male named Gregory Mueller of Seattle, Washington who was involved in an accident during a sailboat racing event on June 22, 2021 along Pudget Sound north of Guemes Island. The cause of death has been determined as salt water drowning and the manner of death is accident. No further information will be released.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has completed the examination of a 32 year old female named Kamran Cohee who died on 2/13/2021 in Big Lake, WA. The cause of death has been determined as gunshot wound of head and the manner is listed as homicide. No further information will be released from this office.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has completed the examination of a 9 year old boy named Timmothy Barela who died at a local hospital after being found during a residential fire near Lake Campbell, Anacortes, WA on 9/29/2020. The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has identified human remains found along the Skagit River near Rockport on Sunday September 2, 2020 as 10-year-old Sage Adams who went missing on July 7, 2020. The woman has been identified as Leticia Maldonado-Reyes, age 57 of Mount Vernon, Washington. The Skagit County Coroner’s Office has completed the examinations of two pedestrians who were struck at the intersection of Rhodes Rd and SR 20 in Sedro Woolley in the early morning hours on 7/8/2018. The victims involved were identified as Patricia Gunsolley, age 67 and Wayne Gunsolley, age 64. The cause and manner death for both individuals was determined to be an accident due to multiple blunt force injuries. No further information will be released at this time.

The driver was identified as Michele N. Kadyk age 48 and the passenger was identified as Trevor J. Clifford age 38. The manner of death has been determined an accident and the cause of death for both individual’s was multiple blunt force injuries due to the motor vehicle collision. The manner of death has determined to be natural with the cause of death as septic shock due to staphylococcal aureus bacteremia from an arm abscess due to intravenous drug usage.
