Engineering is responsible for establishing, examining, surveying, constructing, and improving the county road system within Skagit County. The Division generally focuses on road construction, transportation planning, pavement preservation, traffic safety and signage, as well as managing a wide array of project funding sources and their associated administrative requirements.

The Equipment Division is dedicated to providing a reliable and cost effective county fleet and to maintaining a competitive inventory of various road maintenance materials and shop items. The Equipment Division owns and maintains the fleet, which includes road maintenance machinery, trucks, cars, trailers and a variety of other equipment.
