FINANCE COMMITTEE

The Skagit County Commissioners signed a Resolution (R20130379) approving an interlocal agreement among the County and the cities of Anacortes, Burlington, Mount Vernon and Sedro Woolley, which establishes a framework for provision of jail services within the county. The interlocal agreement established a finance committee with a representative from each city, three representatives from the county and a representative from the Skagit County Sheriff's Office.

The committee will provide financial oversight relative to a newly established Jail Fund, which will receive revenue from a voter-approved 3/10 of 1% sales tax measure, and is expected to meet at least twice annually. Pursuant to the interlocal agreement, the meetings are subject to the Open Public Meetings Act and minutes will be posted on the County's website.
