CENTRAL STORES
Central Stores is responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of
inventoried items for the Road Department and for the Mechanic Shop.
Central Stores purchases, stores, issues, and performs physical inventory
counts of items on an ongoing basis. These items include, but are not
limited to: asphalt, culvert, traffic paint, traffic beads, guardrail,
lubricants and various mechanical parts.
The Central Stores also maintains several Maintenance Material Price
Agreements. This includes requesting vendors
to submit proposals on various road maintenance and mechanical items
twice per year. This helps to ensure that the County gets the best quality
of item for the best price. A list of potential vendors is maintained
throughout the year.
