The Skagit County
Fairgrounds is looking for Superintendents for the 2008 Skagit County
Fair August 6th through August 9th. Positions are currently open for
the following classes:
Open Class Floral
& Agriculture
Open Class Photography & Art
The duties of a Superintendent are checking in Exhibitors and their
exhibits, securing judge(s), recruiting and scheduling helpers to work
in the display area during Fair hours.
Open Class Floral & Agriculture includes the following classes:
Cut Flowers: Annuals & Perennials, Dahlias, and Roses
Potted Plants: Flowering and Foliage Plants
Adult Floral Arrangement, Novice & Advanced
Junior Floral Arrangement: Ages through 10 and 11-15
Fruits & Nuts
Various Classes of Vegetables
Unusual or Novelty Produce
Gardener of the Year
Open Class Art &
Photography includes the following classes:
Fine Art: Amateur,
Advanced Amateur, Professional, Instruction & Copies,
Youth work done in class or under teacher supervision in the following
grades,
3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 9-12, Age 62 and over. There is also a Challenged
class for anyone physically, mentally or emotionally challenged.
Photography: Open class open to anyone, High School, & Youth grades
8 & under. Lots include: Landscape, Seascapes, Nature (plants),
Tulips, Animals or Birds, Portrait, Still Life, Abstract, Architecture
or Industrial, Sports, Human Interest and Humorous or Fun Photo.
