SKAGIT RIVER COMPREHENSIVE FLOOD HAZARD MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE

Welcome to the official site of the Skagit River Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan (CFHMP) Update. This is a project of the Surface Water Management Section of the Engineering Division of Public Works. The Update is being developed in coordination with the Skagit River General Investigation with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and under a new structure of the Skagit County Flood Control Zone District (FCZD), first established in 1970. The new structure is designed to broaden community participation in developing feasible flood control improvements that also benefit salmon recovery efforts. Three Technical Committees (Dike and Drainage District, Environmental, and Land Use) report and make recommendations to a 15-member Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee reports and makes recommendations to the Board of Skagit County Commissioners. All Committee meetings are open to the public. See the links below to learn more.
