What is Meals on Wheels?

Meals on Wheels delivers up to 7 nutritionally balanced meals per week to homebound seniors throughout Skagit County. Meals are delivered by dedicated volunteer and are provided on a donation-only basis.

Who is eligible?

Who is eligible for Meals on Wheels? Individuals living in Skagit County who are:

  • Age 60 years or older and
  • Homebound and
    • Unable to shop for and/ or prepare healthy meals for themselves because of a disabling condition, lack of knowledge or skills, lack of means, or lack of incentive.
    • Spouses/ Partners and Disabled Dependents of eligible participants are also eligible to receive meals.

*"Homebound" is defined as usually unable to leave home without assistance.

How much do meals cost?

  • Meals are available to seniors and their spouses on a donation basis. The suggested donation is $4.00 per meal.
  • Donations are voluntary and confidential. No one is denied meal service due to inability to contribute.
